ConF1gure-it can apply an SCM maturity assessment to any given development process by identifying all the configurable items (CI’s); verifying that the CI’s are a true reflection of the work product; look at the ‘end-to-end’ process to assess how the CI’s are controlled and moved within the SDLC; what recording/reporting is available and then perform an audit.

ConF1gure-it will identify if the process: -

ü allows simultaneous updating of any given CI by more than one person throughout the life cycle

ü follows any need for promotion requests to be approved/rejected at any ‘quality gates’

ü where used, is the use of the tool set documented

ü exhibits a high degree of consistency and that all code movements can be traced back to authorisation (problem/change record, initiative etc)

ü has the capability to identify and rebuild previously released software and reproduce associated documentation
